Back 2 School, Off to the Races!

Back 2 School, Off to the Races!

Whoa, back to school happened and it felt like we jumped out of the starting gates, and we are on the move, thundering down the first turn of the track!

As the school year begins, it's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily routines.  However, it's important to slow down and make time for your family and preserve the memories! Whether it's doing absolutely nothing on the weekends and just spending time hanging around together, saving and scrapbooking your child's school artwork or having a fun family game night, these moments can create lasting memories. Here are some tips to help you make the most of your family time.

Preserve School Artwork

One way to cherish your child's school memories is by preserving their artwork. I just recently realized that the piles of pre-school artwork are getting so large, I can no longer hide them. Instead of letting my kid's masterpieces pile up in a drawer, I decided to create areas of dedicated space to display their creations. You can use a bulletin board or a gallery wall to showcase their artwork. I even found these great little command wall clips specially made for handing up artwork! Another option is to digitize their projects by taking photos and creating an online album. This way, you can easily look back on their creations and see how they've grown over the years. I recently purchased a laminator and hope to laminate my most favorite artwork and save them for years to come.

Family Game Night

Family game nights are a great way to bond and have fun together. Choose games that are suitable for all ages and interests. Whether it's a classic board game or a virtual game night, the important thing is to spend quality time together. Encourage friendly competition and create lasting memories. You can even take turns choosing the game each week to keep things exciting. Make sure you shop by McWhiggins because our game night selections are off the chain!

Make Memories

Take advantage of the school year to create special memories with your family. Plan outings to local parks, museums, or other attractions. Explore new hobbies or activities together. Whether it's going on a hike, baking cookies, or having a picnic, these shared experiences will strengthen your family bond. Remember to capture these moments through photos or videos to cherish them for years to come.

By slowing down and making time for your family, you can create meaningful memories that will last a lifetime. School may be back in session, but it's important to prioritize family time. Cherish your child's artwork, enjoy fun-filled game nights, and make lasting memories together. These moments are precious and will bring your family closer together.
