A Green Sea Turtle typically returns to the site of its birth to lay eggs and continue the circle of life. When not on the beach, adult Sea Turtles live in warm coastal waters worldwide. Their average lifespan is an amazing 80 years.
History: It’s said that the most dangerous moments of a Sea Turtle’s life are the very first—when it makes the slow, awkward journey across the sand from egg to sea. Once in the water, though, life doesn’t exactly get easy for them. The omnivores swim warm coastal waters, feeding on crabs and jellyfish when young, but switching to a diet of seagrass and algae as they age and grow.
